Modern Millwork has been carrying on the tradition of Europeon handcrafted quality for over 50 years. We are a family-owned custom cabinet manufacturer servicing Penticton, the South Okanagan, and the Similkameen area.

Charlie Goeckel assumed ownership of John Pearson Sash & Door on April 1, 1966, before opening "Modern Millwork", a custom woodworking manufacturer specializing in European handcrafted residential and commercial millwork. 

In 1996, Charlie's son, Tom Goeckel, returned from Vancouver where he had operated a successful solid-surface countertop business for ten years attaining certification in several products (Dupont Corian, Avonite, Karadon, Fountainhead, Surell and Gibraltor). 

Tom took over ownership of Modern Millwork in January 2000. A second building was added in 2005 containing offices and over 6,000 square feet of shop floor space. 

2010 saw a redesign of the existing showroom area showcasing renewable resources and various countertop applications with a sample room attached.

Today, the modern millwork team consists of certified journeyman cabinetmakers that take great pride in their trade.

Community support in the form of soccer and hockey sponsorships, charitable organization assistance and purchasing locally are important to us.
